As a small town boy from Yale, Oklahoma, Byrum Strader grew up building things with his “Bampy Strader.” Grandpa was a handyman and taught Byrum to utilize his time and tools wisely. As a member of FFA, raising and showing cattle, and participating in youth rodeos, Byrum realized how hard work and dedication could pay off so he continued to work hard for others. With the support of his father, Rusty, he graduated with an Associate of Science degree from Northern Oklahoma College. Being first in his family to graduate college, Strader transferred to Oklahoma State University where he pursued becoming an Agriculture Teacher; but with the lessons learned during his part-time employment, Byrum decided his life’s journey would take a different path. As an employee at Lambert Construction of Stillwater, OK, Strader experienced first-hand the nuts and bolts of just what went into large structural projects. He dreamed of running his own company and someday building projects himself on a smaller scale. Today Strader Building, Inc.
Spring of 2004, Byrum established his own business, Strader Building LLC and started making his dreams a reality. With some of Bampy’s old tools, his own small collection, Strader hired a couple of buddies, advertised in local papers, and soon built his first production, which was a wood-framed 20x30 storage building. Business continued slowly but surely and projects eventually grew bigger and stronger, then soon it evolved into an all-steel building company, Strader Building, Inc. The company serves as subcontractor on numerous projects under Lambert Construction as well as many other respected businesses around Oklahoma.
Byrum's wife and business partner, Lyndee Strader, is also small town kid, grew up outside of Perry, OK raising and showing sheep with her family. She was an active 4-H member and served many leadership roles in high school. Attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa where she met her husband, Byrum. Lyndee also continued education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, graduated with an Agriculture Leadership Bachelor's Degree, then returned to the University for employment until it was soon time for her full attention and administration at Strader Building, Inc.
Today both Byrum and his wife, Lyndee run the company and are very blessed with their opportunities and success.
